Memo to Arizona Cards: Sign Kurt Warner

Memo to the Bidwell family: Sign Kurt Warner or you are going to make the worst mistake in the history of your franchise. Remember, when this contract negotiation started, Warner wanted $14MM per year. He's down to $23MM for two years; $12MM guaranteed. It was reported this morning that Warner's counteroffer came with another interesting twist. If the Cards sign WR Anquan Boldin, Warner would give up an additional $1MM per year. Talk about class, Warner is as classy as you can get. Taking less money in order to make his team better shows leadership beyond what he's done for years on the field. How do you think Boldin feels today? Especially a guy who put himself in a precarious position late in the year. And the rest of the team? How do you think they feel about their QB and his concern for winning?

We must remember how cheap the Cards are. Robert Griffith, former Cards defensive back mentioned yesterday, that when he received his $15MM signing bonus check via FedEx, the check was for $14,999,985. The Cards deducted the cost of the FedEx shipping from his bonus check. Nice.
